Welcome to In-Between-Time.
Travel through the former jail of Amsterdam where time is standing still. Climb a white tower and enter landscapes made of dreams and memories. Stairwells are filled with desert-blues. In old cells pomegranate trees appear to be growing. Drums roll and a voice breaks.
IN BETWEEN TIME takes you on a theatrical journey through the old jail just before it will be transformed into a new district, the Bajes Kwartier. In 2017 the building offered shelter to 1.100 refugees.
The performance is made by ten professional theatermakers. Five of them started their careers in the Middle-East and Africa and have recently fled to the Netherlands.
On every level of the Bijlmertower you will meet different artists. With music, images and stories they transform the building and find new directions in which to restart their lives.
‘Intimate, raw and hopeful’ ‘Sincere and confrontational’ ‘Visual Poetry’
